Job Details Rwanda Development Organization (RDO), a non religious, non political organization, wishes to recruit a Programs Officer who will be in charge of coordinating all its programs and activities.

POST TITLE: Programs Officer
DUTY STATION: Kigali/Rwanda
DURATION: Indefinite with an initial 6 month probation period.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY AND TASKS
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Secretary of Rwanda Development Organization (RDO), the Programs Officer will support the development, implementation and monitoring of RDO five year strategic plan that aims at realizing RDO global mission and objectives.

He/ she will specifically:
  • Deputize the Executive Secretary
  • Coordinate all programs/ activities of RDO
  • Responsible for scrutinizing field reports and plans of action and advise accordingly
  • Compile comprehensive projects implementation reports for the organization
  • Design project proposals for submission to funders/ partners
  • Execute any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Secretary

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
  • Be a Rwandan national
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, management, Sociology, Agriculture, or any other equivalent qualifications. Master’s Degree would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five years working experience in program/ project management with an organization intervening in the domain of community development.
  • Language proficiency in English or French.  Knowledge of both languages is an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point & Internet)

Recruitment of Research Assistants

1.    Background
The Institute of Policy Analysis and Research-Rwanda (IPAR-Rwanda) is an independent policy analysis and  research  institute  whose  primary  mandate  is  to  conduct  research  and  analysis  leading  to  policy advice to the government, private sector and civil society in Rwanda.
The  institute  wishes  to  invite  applications  from  competent  candidates  who  would  be  called upon on need  basis within a period of one year to assist the institute's researcher to carry out research projects.

2.    Scope of assignment
Research assistants when called upon will undertake to following tasks;
i.    Assist researchers in both secondary and primary data collection.
ii.    Work with the lead researchers during the data entry, data cleaning and data analysis.
iii.    Prepare  timely  narrative  and  financial  reports  on-going  research/analysis  for  the  assignments given to him/her
iv.    Assist in translating research tools

3.    Minimum Requirements
Applicants should:
i.    Be Rwandans,
ii.    Be able to understand, read and write Kinyarwanda and English or French,
iii.    Have at least a Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, and Business Studies, Social Sciences (sociology, public administration, politics, women’s studies and anthropology) or any other closely related field,
iv.    Have basic computer applications understanding including office applications.
Applicants having prior experience in the above said tasks will be given an added advantage.

4.  Evaluation criteria
The    evaluation    of    the    qualifications    shall    consider    the    academic    qualifications    and competence/experience and Computer (statistical pack ages) and language skills (Kinyarwanda and English/French).
